Public Keeps Warming Up to Health Care Reform

The poll numbers for health care reform just keep getting better for Democrats. In a new tracking poll, just 35% say they oppose the landmark law, down from 41% last month, the Washington Post reports, while 50% now hold a favorable view of the law. That’s the best the law has polled since it was passed in March.

While 69% of Republicans still oppose the law, 50% of them vehemently, independents broke 48% to 37% in favor of it. But the poll also shows that misconceptions about the law persist. A whopping 36% of seniors still believe the law creates a “death panel” that will make end-of-life decisions for them, and 17% said they weren’t sure if it did or not.
