Dems Missed Harassment Case Against Scott Brown

Scott Brown got tangled in messy sexual harassment allegations years ago, and Gawker thinks Democrats blew it by not even raising the issue during the recent campaign. A woman claimed Brown harassed her when she worked to get him elected in 1998, then spread rumors about her through fake letters and emails. She dropped the suit, however, when her own lawyer backed out because it wasn't supported on "good grounds."

It's a weird case—Brown said at the time that she was harassing him—and entirely possible that it has no merit, writes Hamilton Nolan. "But why did Democrats and members of the national press fail to even bring up the fact that Scott Brown had once been accused of sexual harassment and defamation?" If he were a Democrat, rest assured it would have been a regular "talking point" on Fox News, he writes.
