The actress reportedly instructed friends not to talk to the magazine, but editor Graydon Carter confirmed this week that its article on Paltrow will run—and a source says it's an "epic takedown." Page Six thinks it has figured out what's going on: The magazine is investigating Gwyneth's relationship with a Miami billionaire, according to sources. Specifically, the reporter has been asking around about whether Paltrow had an affair with Jeff Soffer in 2008, when he flew her in for the reopening of the Fontainebleau Hotel, which he owns. She "remained closed off in a private section with Soffer" during one party, got a private tour of the hotel, stayed at Soffer's house, and spent time with him on his yacht. She's been married to Chris Martin since 2003 and they were reportedly having problems at the time; Soffer married Elle MacPherson recently.
