Rumph Jr.) (Associated Press) In a stunning September reversal, the Mets completed an epic collapse — and the Phillies a historic comeback — to give Philadelphia the NL East title by one game, the New York Times reports. Future Hall-of-Famer Tom Glavine got only one out in the first before New York manager Willie Randolph pulled him, and the Marlins raced to a 7-0 lead. The Mets put up little fight and the Marlins beat them 8-1. In Philly, veteran lefty Jamie Moyer took a 3-1 lead into the 6th before handing it to a solid Phils bullpen. They pulled away for a 6-1 win and an on-field celebration before home fans, fulfilling shortstop Jimmie Rollins' prediction that they were the division's "team to beat."
