(AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais) President Obama says the health care legislation the House passed tonight is "a victory for the American people" and "a victory for common sense." The bill "will not solve every problem" in the health care system, the president said, but "moves us in the right direction." Obama praised Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats for getting the bill through, saying they proved that the government "still works for the people." "This is what change looks like," Obama said, a powerful message coming from the first black president after a decisive victory engineered in large part by the first female House speaker. After spending the evening in the Roosevelt Room of the White House with staffers, waiting out the lengthy House debate, Obama—or whoever controls his Twitter account—tweeted, "Yes we can."
