The first of many or just one angry donor? A prominent political contributor says he's going to stop writing checks to the Republican party because he's "ashamed" over the leak of the recent fear-based fundraising campaign. Mark DeMoss, a former RNC "Eagle" because he gave the party $15,000 in 2008, called the campaign "shameful" in a letter to Michael Steele.
"I’m afraid the presentation is representative of a culture and mindset within the Republican National Committee," wrote DeMoss, who gave a copy of his letter to Ben Smith of Politico. DeMoss, who served as Mitt Romney's liaison to Evengelicals in 2008, says he will continue giving to individual candidates.
