Seahawks Slip Past Baffled Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals played good football for most of yesterday's game, but a four-point lead with under three minutes remaining wasn't enough. The Seahawks charged down the field for a last-minute touchdown and victory. The Bengals led Seattle in yards, first downs, and possession time, but statistics weren't enough, reports the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck threw his third touchdown pass of the game to Nate Burleson for the go-ahead points, and then the Bengals' kick returner fumbled to start a fruitless final drive. After the game, Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis offered a deceptively simple formula for future success: "We have got to play better in order to beat good football teams."
