(AP Photo/Manuel Balce Ceneta) Fox News White House correspondent Major Garrett accidentally posted a link to a Las Vegas hooker’s website on Twitter last night while covering the State of the Union, using one of those condensed Twitter links. He figured it out, deleted it, and apologized—but not before Gawker pounced. Later he added, “For those suckling snide syrup. I publicly acknowledged an innocent mistake and corrected it. If that’s not good enuf, take a hike.” Garrett blamed the mistake on link condensing service bit.ly, saying it “turned my original link to a soft-porn link.” Sure, that’s possible. Or maybe, just maybe, Garrett accidentally pasted a link to another site he was looking at into bit.ly.
