Dow Up 54 on Pharma Gains

Stocks posted solid gains, with the health-care sector leading the way after Credit Suisse analysts upgraded Merck, the Wall Street Journal reports.

  • The Dow gained 54 points to close at 10,681.
  • The Nasdaq added 26 points, closing at 2,308.
  • The S&P 500 jumped 9 points to settle at 1,146.
