Prayer vigils and rallies will take place in 45 cities today to send a message to Capitol Hill. Later this month, 25 religious leaders of multiple faiths will join the president in a call-in webcast. Congregations will also rack up 55,000 calls and emails to lawmakers in the coming weeks to support reform. “Every so often there is an issue that is so clear and compelling, or so alarming and disconcerting, that it really does galvanize the faith community,” notes the head of one of the groups. “Inclusive, accessible, affordable health care for all of God's children is for us a moral issue."
