Another US service member has died of wounds suffered in the fighting with Iran, the Pentagon announced Sunday, raising the American military death toll to seven. US Central Command said the service member, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was wounded on March 1 in an Iranian attack on a Saudi military base where American forces were stationed. The individual died while military medical staff members were preparing a transfer to a US military hospital in Germany for more advanced treatment, the New York Times reports.

No additional details about the service member's branch, rank, or unit were provided. Officials did not immediately release further information about the March 1 strike or whether any other U.S. personnel were injured.
