Former Nickelodeon child actor Kianna Underwood has been identified as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run in Brooklyn, per Variety. The 33-year-old was struck and killed early Friday in the Brownsville neighborhood, according to multiple outlets, including TMZ. The NPYD said a woman was pronounced dead at the scene, but authorities didn't immediately name her.
Underwood was reportedly crossing at Pitkin Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard shortly before 7am when first a black Ford SUV hit her, then a sedan, which continued driving, apparently dragging her for nearly two blocks, per WABC and People. E! News cites a Page Six report noting that Underwood suffered "severe trauma to the head and body." As of Saturday morning, no arrests had been announced and the investigation was ongoing, per a police statement.
Underwood appeared in the final season of Nickelodeon's sketch-comedy series All That in 2005, sharing the screen with Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, and Kenan Thompson in seven episodes, per Variety. She was also a regular voice actor on the animated series Little Bill from 1999 to 2004, portraying Fuchsia Glover, the main character's cousin, in nearly two dozen episodes. A New York City native, Underwood's credits included the 1999 indie film The 24-Hour Woman alongside Rosie Perez, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Patti LuPone; voice work in the 2001 animated TV movie Santa, Baby!; and a touring production of the musical Hairspray.
