Palin Generates Florida Heat

As many as 60,000 people, many of them elderly, waited in 90-degree Florida heat for a glimpse of Sarah Palin yesterday, reports the Orlando Sentinel. Hundreds needed treatment for heat-related ailments as the vice presidential candidate visited a sprawling retirement community in her first campaign trip to Florida. Palin has become so popular she threatens to eclipse John McCain in the state.     

"It should be Palin-McCain," said one Floridian holding up a Republican campaign button. The Alaska governor emphasized Barack Obama's lack of executive experience. Obama "likes to point the finger of blame, but has he ever lifted a finger to help?" she asked. "No!" the crowd yelled back.
