Sean "Diddy" Combs has been behind bars since his arrest in September, and he won't be getting out ahead of his Oct. 3 sentencing. Judge Arun Subramanian, who oversaw his trial, rejected a bail request Monday. "Combs fails to satisfy his burden to demonstrate an entitlement to release," the judge wrote, per Variety. Combs was acquitted last month of racketeering and sex trafficking. The music mogul, whose lawyers urged Subramanian to free him on a $50 million bond, could still get up to 20 years on two lesser prostitution-related counts, though a much lower sentence is expected.

Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs wants to go free on a $50 million bond as he awaits sentencing. Combs' legal team asked Judge Arun Subramanian to consider the request on Tuesday, and the judge has yet to rule, reports the New York Times. While Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges against him in his sex-trafficking trial, he was convicted of lesser counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He faces up to 20 years in prison, though Deadline suggests it's more likely he'll get two or three years at the fall sentencing.
Combs was prosecuted under the Mann Act, and his lawyers say his continued incarceration is unprecedented. "In the history of the statute, the Mann Act has never been applied to facts similar to these to prosecute or incarcerate any other person," they wrote. Subramanian initially denied bail due to Combs's documented history of domestic violence, noting that such behavior is difficult to control with standard bail conditions.
