Some cases of Dr Pepper are the subject of a recall thanks to a major labeling glitch: The cans marked as "Zero Sugar" actually have the full allotment of sugar, reports Food & Wine. The company and the FDA initially announced a voluntary recall, but the federal agency has since upgraded it to a Class II recall because the mistake could be a dangerous one for people with diabetes or who need to limit their sugar intake for other reasons, per Fox News.

  • The Dr Pepper Zero Sugar cans in question have the product code XXXXRS05165 with a "best by" date of Feb. 16, 2026, according to an FDA fact sheet.
  • More than 19,000 of the cans in either 12-packs or 24-packs were distributed to retailers in three states: Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
  • A regular can of Dr Pepper has 39 grams of sugar, per Fox.
