(AP Photo/Winslow Townson) After starting 128 consecutive games, Tom Brady will have surgery on his injured left knee and miss the rest of the season, the New England Patriots confirmed today. The superstar QB went down in the first quarter of yesterday's victory over the Chiefs. "It’s a tough setback for him," coach Bill Belichick said at his weekly press conference, which was postponed while Brady underwent medical tests. Backup Matt Cassel, who has never started an NFL game, wrapped up the 17-10 victory. Belichick shot down rumors that free agents Chris Simms and Tim Rattay are under consideration to replace Brady, the Boston Herald reports. "We haven’t worked out a quarterback or given a physical," he said. "It’s simply not true." Read These Next Country star cancels rest of his tour: 'I am mentally unwell.'
