(Christophe Gateau/dpa via AP) Megadeth's lead singer has "faced obstacles before"—so he's ready to attack a new big one. Dave Mustaine on Monday announced that he has throat cancer, and that his doctors believe the treatment plan they came up with has a 90% success rate. "It’s clearly something to be respected and faced head on," he tweeted. The band has cancelled their slate of shows for the summer, including a July 4 appearance in the American Family Insurance Amphitheater at Summerfest in Milwaukee. The Journal-Sentinel reports Megadeth was actually a replacement for Summerfest's original headliner, Ozzy Osbourne, who had to ax his shows after a fall. Summerfest won't be coming up with a replacement for Megadeth. CNN adds that the first-ever Megacruise is still planning to hit the seas for five nights in October. On Facebook, Mustaine noted that the band is still working on its follow-up to 2017's Dystopia; the band, formed in 1983, won their first Grammy for Best Metal Performance for the album's title track.
