Theresa May Survives No-Confidence Vote

After British lawmakers on Tuesday overwhelmingly rejected Theresa May's Brexit deal, the British prime minister herself survived a no-confidence vote Wednesday, the AP reports. The vote was called after Parliament voted down the deal May forged with the EU by a margin of 432-202. But the House of Commons then voted by 325 to 306 to express confidence in the government, meaning May will remain in office as Britain prepares to exit the European Union March 29.

Despite making it through the vote, May still faces the challenge of coming up with a new Brexit blueprint by Monday. After Wednesday's vote, she said in a statement she is committed to coming up with a plan lawmakers will back and proposed meetings with leaders of all the parties starting Wednesday night, the BBC reports.
