Metal Band to Donate 'Zombie' Cover Profits to O'Riordan's Kids

It was a thrill when metal band Bad Wolves heard Dolores O'Riordan liked their cover of "Zombie"—which they recorded for their upcoming debut album—so much that she wanted to sing on it, Rolling Stone reports. Bad Wolves' Tommy Vext tells Sky News it was "the greatest honor" to know The Cranberries singer approved of their version of her 1994 hit. But O'Riordan died Monday ahead of a scheduled recording session for Bad Wolves' "Zombie." Vext says the band was "deeply saddened by the sudden loss" and will now be donating all profits from their version of "Zombie" to O'Riordan's three children. "You never know if that's going to help," Vext tells Rolling Stone. "But hopefully it does some good." He tells Sky News the message behind "Zombie" still resonates: "Humanity is still fighting to assert itself despite all the conflicts."
