NFL Player Suspended 6 Games Over Domestic Assault Claims

Ezekiel Elliott won't be playing in the first six games of the upcoming NFL season, due to domestic violence accusations from his ex-girlfriend. Tiffany Thompson says that the Dallas Cowboys running back physically attacked her multiple times in July of last year. Though the city attorney's office ultimately declined to press charges, the league says the evidence is persuasive enough to merit Elliott's suspension, the Dallas Observer reports. The decision also took into account an incident in March in which Elliott allegedly pulled a woman's shirt down at a parade. Elliott has three days to appeal the suspension.
