Justin Upton went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, including a three-run home run, to power the Arizona Diamondbacks to their eighth consecutive victory today, a 10-3 romp over the Colorado Rockies. The 20-year-old outfielder, the first overall pick in 2005, boosted his average to .415, including five home runs with 10 RBIs. Dan Haren (2-0) limited the Rockies to a run and five hits in six innings for the win.
The Diamondbacks have outscored Colorado 38-10 in going 5-0 against them. Last October, the Rockies swept Arizona in the NLCS. Upton chased Colorado's Franklin Morales with a 429-foot home run to left-center field that blew open a 7-1 lead with no outs in the fifth inning. He also singled and scored in the second, singled in the third and had an RBI sacrifice fly in the sixth.
