The New York Knicks continued their season-long string of underwhelming performances by scoring only 31 points in the first half of a 108-79 loss in Dallas tonight. The Mavericks were able to rest their top players in the fourth quarter thanks to a 22-point advantage after three periods. Dirk Nowitzki had 18 points in a mere 22 minutes, reports AP.

Jason Terry came off the bench to score 18 for Dallas, which improved to 6-5 since acquiring Jason Kidd. The Knicks, who lost their seventh straight, were consistent, starting both the first and second quarters by making only one of 13 shots, while the Mavs piled up points on the fast break. Zach Randolph led NY with 21 points.
