(AP Photo/Yves Malenfer, Ministere de l'Interieur) Relatives of victims of the Germanwings plane crash say they're "appalled" by a compensation offer meant to ease their suffering. Parent company Lufthansa says it will pay $27,700 per victim—in addition to some $55,540 paid immediately after the crash—plus an $11,110 payment to each immediate family member for immaterial damage. Immediate relatives are considered children, parents, and partners, a lawyer representing families of 35 victims tells NBC News, adding "reactions ranged from blank horror and rage to despair and bitterness." Reps for the families add Air France gave $1.1 million per victim after a crash in 2000. Any compensation for material damages has yet to be decided.
