If you ever found yourself annoyed at having to press Control-Alt-Delete in order to log onto Windows on your computer, you've now been vindicated. In an interview for a fundraising campaign at Harvard, Bill Gates himself admitted the three-key requirement was a mistake, the Verge reports. Basically, it was implemented in order to keep any other applications from faking the login screen and then stealing your password, Gates explained, but "it was a mistake" to force users to press three keys at once, he said, to great applause. But the buck didn't exactly stop there: "We could have had a single button, but the guy who did the IBM keyboard design didn't wanna give us our single button."
