Crime | Trayvon Martin Parents of Trayvon Martin Settle With Homeowners Likely more than $1M: Orlando Sentinel By John Johnson Posted Apr 6, 2013 5:59 AM CDT Copied This combo made from file photos shows Trayvon Martin, left, and George Zimmerman. (AP Photo, File) Trayvon Martin's parents have settled their wrongful-death claim with the Florida homeowners association where their son was shot to death last year, reports the Orlando Sentinel. Neither side is divulging the amount, but the newspaper thinks it's more than $1 million because the parents rejected an earlier offer of that amount. George Zimmerman—who was patrolling the Retreat at Twin Lakes subdivision in Sanford as a Neighborhood Watch volunteer when he shot 17-year-old Trayvon—was not involved with the deal. He is charged with second-degree murder and likely faces a separate civil suit from the teen's parents, reports AP. Read These Next A look at President Trump's fast pivot on Minneapolis.
