Sports | Rich Rodriguez Rodriguez Implicated in Gutting WVU Football Files WVU offices found emptied upon staff's return from Fiesta Bowl By Lev Weinstein Posted Jan 16, 2008 12:25 AM CST Copied A West Virginia fan holds a sign referencing former head coach Rich Rodriguez during the first half of the Fiesta Bowl college football game against Oklahoma, Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 in Glendale, Ariz. (AP Photo/Matt York) (Associated Press) Seven years of football documents have gone missing from WVU's Puskar Center - from player's personal files to conditioning charts - and former head coach Rich Rodriguez is the prime suspect, the Charleston Gazette reports. Rodriguez and an assistant were spotted shredding papers in his office on the 18th of December, only a day after the coach announced his departure to Michigan. "It's unbelievable. Everything is gone, like it never existed. Good, bad, or indifferent, we don't have a record of anything that's happened," said a source in the department. The absence of all files accumulated during Rodriguez's coaching tenure, including sensitive data on boosters and recruiting, was not discovered until staff returned to the center following the Fiesta Bowl, on January 3rd. The school and coach are currently in a dispute over the buyout clause in his contract. Read These Next Mark Zuckerberg's 'list' has Silicon Valley buzzing.
