Threats Keep McQueary Off Sidelines

Mike McQueary—the assistant coach in the middle of the Penn State scandal—has received multiple threats and won't be at tomorrow's game against Nebraska after all, officials say. Interim head coach Tom Bradley, who took charge after the firing of Joe Paterno, had earlier told a press conference that McQueary would be coaching, but it would be a "game-time decision" whether he'd be on the sideline as usual, or in the coaches' booth, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

McQueary, who says he witnessed former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky raping a 10-year-old boy but did not intervene, has come under intense criticism in recent days. After emerging from a trustee meeting yesterday, Penn State interim President Rodney Erickson told reporters to "stay tuned" for more on McQueary, the Allentown Morning Call reports. Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett declined to answer questions about McQueary, saying the university "still has some deliberations to make in that respect."
