The dentist, lawyer, and preeminent Obama birth certificate doubter is running for US Senate. The Republican hopes to win her party’s nomination and then unseat California’s Democratic incumbent, Dianne Feinstein, in 2012. “It’s time for new ideas, new blood, new energy,” Taitz tells the Daily Caller. “I’m best known of the candidates who have announced that they are running.” Rather than birtherism, however, her campaign focuses on economic issues. Taitz is not a fan of NAFTA (which she says sends American jobs to countries that use “de facto slave labor”), but she does like tariffs and tax credits for companies that bring overseas jobs back home.
