US | Phoenix Jones Seattle Superhero Makes Court Appearance 'Phoenix Jones' vows that arrest won't stop him By Matt Cantor Posted Oct 13, 2011 3:36 PM CDT Updated Oct 16, 2011 7:00 PM CDT Copied Ben Fodor, right, a self-styled superhero who goes by the name "Phoenix Jones," sits with one of his attorneys. No charges have yet been filed against Jones' mild-mannered alter-ego (read: real identity), one Benjamin Fodor; prosecutors told the judge they want more time to make a decision, the Seattle Times reports. Fodor was arrested after blasting pepper spray at people; he says he was breaking up a fight. And his run-in with the law hasn't stopped him from his mission. After the hearing, Fodor ripped off his shirt, Superman-style, to display his superhero costume. "I will continue to patrol with my team, probably tonight," he told reporters. "In addition to being Phoenix Jones, I am also Ben Fodor, father and brother," he noted. "I am just like everybody else. The only difference is that I try to stop crime in my neighborhood and everywhere else."
