The super-rich are joining the social networking craze, but they're certainly not going to mix with the masses on MySpace. Exclusive sites for millionaires using the same membership criteria as snooty country clubs are appearing on the Web, reports the Wall Street Journal. Invitation-only site aSmallWorld.net has proven popular—some say too popular.

As the sites expand, in part under advertiser pressure to grow their traffic, the ultra-rich elite fear that they may be getting outnumbered by the merely rich.  Some complain that spammers and other riff-raff have managed to sneak in. One long-time member on aSmallWorld sniffed that a friend found the site had sunk so low, she'd invited her maids to sign up.
