Celebrity | Liam Gallagher Liam Gallagher Suing Brother Over Oasis 'Lies' Noel says appearance canceled because of hangover; Liam faults laryngitis By Evann Gastaldo Posted Aug 19, 2011 10:28 AM CDT Copied In this Aug. 27, 2008 file photo, Noel, left, and Liam Gallagher of Oasis perform during the start of their Canadian tour in Vancouver, BC. Liam is suing Noel for recent comments he made about the band's 2009 breakup, Reuters reports. During a July press conference to discuss his new solo career, Noel claimed that Oasis pulled out of a festival appearance shortly before breaking up because Liam was hungover. But "that is a lie," Liam says in a statement. "I want Oasis fans ... to know the truth," the statement continues. Liam claims he actually had laryngitis and was "gutted" to pull out. "Noel also falsely stated that the demise of Oasis followed a massive row in which he claimed I demanded to advertise my clothing range Pretty Green in the Oasis tour program," the statement adds. "The truth is there was no such discussion or row between us. There are many reasons why Oasis split. But it had nothing to do with my clothing range."
