Celebrity | Prince William How Much Is the Royal Honeymoon Costing? At least a million, most likely By Evann Gastaldo Posted May 11, 2011 9:00 AM CDT Copied A Feb. 25, 2011 photo from files showing Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton during a visit to the St Andrews Museum, Scotland. Over at the Daily Beast, Lauren Streib takes a closer look at the private Fregate Island resort, where all the food and spa treatments are organic and every villa has a private pool, Jacuzzi, personal buggy, butler, and chef: Accommodations: The resort holds 40 people in 16 villas, but let's assume the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rented them all out in order to have the place to themselves. That's a grand total of $800,000 for 10 days—though they might have scored half off. Transportation: They arrived in the Seychelles via private jet (approximately $100,000 round-trip), then took a chartered helicopter flight to Fregate Island ($2,400 each way). Security: Prince William, as second in line to the throne, is a very high security risk. The bill for the vacation is probably around $500,000, Streib says. Even with half off on lodging, we're still looking at at least a cool million—and that's before adding in incidentals like a $175 facial or $865 couple's massage. "Though," Streib concludes, "given the $60 million or so the wedding itself cost, that looks like something of a bargain." Read These Next Trumps ends trade talks with Canada.
