Justine Henin and Maria Sharapova battled for a record 3 hours, 24 minutes in the final match of the Sony Ericsson Championships yesterday until Henin finally locked up her 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 victory. "It's an honor to play against her," Sharapova told AP, adding: "I hope I can get my revenge a few more times."

Sharapova powered out to a fast start on Henin's double faults, while Henin saved 14 of Sharapova's 18 break chances overall, and five of six in the final set. Henin's 25-match streak is the longest since Steffi Graff's 38-match run in 1989. Her winnings make her the first woman to top the $5 million mark.
