(AP Photo/Bill Robles) Despite a previous report that Jared Loughner’s trial would be moved to California, the accused shooter of Gabrielle Giffords and 18 others will actually get a trial closer to home—much closer. Prosecutors argued that the four-hour round trip between the two cities would burden witnesses and victims. Though Loughner’s defense lawyers earlier argued he would not get a fair trial in Tucson, they did not object, but they could still try to change the venue in the future.
