Today's Poll: Paladino 24%, Cuomo 57%

Andrew Cuomo must not know which end is up these days: Just yesterday, a Quinnipiac poll had GOP nominee Carl Paladino "within shouting distance" of the governor's mansion with 43% to Cuomo's 49%. But a Siena poll out today puts those numbers at a much more distant 24% for the Tea Partier to 57% for the Democrat, reports the New York Times.

Two important distinctions in the polls, the Times notes: Today's included Conservative nominee Rick Lazio, who came in at 8%, largely believed to be siphoned from Paladino. And Siena polled registered voters, while Quinnipiac polled only those it considered likely to vote. Still, Siena sees momentum for Paladino; his camp nevertheless dismissed the poll, saying, "We take each with a grain of salt.” (With props to Wonkette.)
